The Zürn 150-
for the plant breeding and acreage tests

The development in agriculture field tests during the last decades has caused the harvest of plant products to increase despite of the reduced acreage and a substantial reduced assignment of labor.

Reasons are apart from specific accommodation of nutrients, especially pest management and breeding of productive sorts including gene technology.

Through provision on suitable machines, devices and services, the company Zürn wants to contribute a small part of it.

Therefore, Zürn decided to develop an extremely powerful combine.

The construction emphasizes balanced technology.  Thus, particular components like the cutting section, shaker, sieves, grain transport, engine and drive are consistently co-ordinated to each other concerning their power and capacity.

Special Features of Performance:

1.  Powerful turbo diesel engine
(John Deere PowerTech)
- 61 HP (45 kW)
- 2.4 L cubic capacity
- 4 cylinders
- water cooled
- fuel tank volume, 60L

2.  Cutting section for all harvesting conditions:
- the conveyor belts and the intake auger in combination with the feeding roller ensure an even and trouble-free feeding to the threshing section

3.  High threshing performance due to:
- big angle of contact with 118 degrees => separation area of 0.31 meters squared
- big diameter of the threshing drum 350 mm
- a rasp drum with variable speeds between 300 - 2000 rpm, electrically adjustable from drivers seat and fitted tachometer (speedometer)
- 4 de-awner bars, installed from the side of the machine

The Zürn 150 has only 1 concave as a universal concave. (as an option, there is a special concave for corn)
The universal concave can be used for almost all threshable crops, because of an efficient threshing and cleaning system.

4.  Efficient cleaning system:
a) shaker; with 28mm openings; big grain separation area of 1.8 meters squared
b) double sieve system:
    (quickly changeable)
                     - upper sieve: adjustable lamella sieve
                     - lower sieve: round hole sieve
=> therefore, a total sieve area of 2.0 meters squared

5.  Efficient cleaning fan:
- cleaning fan, hydraulic drive (stepless adjustment) between 0 - 1900 rpm adjustable from drivers seat with fitted tachometer (speedometer)
- cleaning fan ensures an absolutely mix-free of the machine because of complete emptying of sieve case and integrated pnematic cleaning system in the cutting section

6.  Sturdy contruction:
- solid frame => less prone to repair work even when strongly used
- high operational safety
- reliable application

7.  Easy maintenance due to:
- good view and easy access to the important units
- only 4 belt drives => less wear and maintenance
- many hydraulic drives => less belts and chain drives, which are prone to wear
- maintenance and service of main wear parts at your local JOHN DEERE dealer
- many other main wear parts are standard parts (DIN parts), ex: hydraulic motors, drive belts, bearings, etc.

The company Zürn 150 is a big John Deere dealer, south west of Germany, therefore we use a lot of components from John Deere.
